As a decentralized open source project, Otomic relies on software developers to grow its ecosystem. The figure below shows the blockchain edge client architecture and various software components that require development.
Therefore, there are many opportunities for software developers to join and receive grants and token awards. This section will lay out several different areas where we are actively looking for contributions from the developer community.
HTLC beyond the EVM. As we discussed earlier, HTLC atomic swap contracts need to be ported to non-EVM blockchain’s native language and VM platforms. With many non-EVM blockchains emerging, we are looking for developers to create, optimize, and audit those contracts.
Integration into DEX and wallets. The Otomic can bring significant value to DeFi, GameFi, and SocialFi projects by providing an integrated cross-chain bridge. Through Otomic, the user can manipulate and trade on assets without worrying about which blockchains they reside on. That is to bring the complete CEX user experience to the DeFi world.
LP node management tools. The LP node is a server that needs to be secured, monitored, and managed. Since most LPs are not technical and uninterested in managing servers, we believe there will be a market for “managed” LP nodes. It could be a cloud service where LPs can just start cloud Docker containers from the web dashboard and pay by the hour. Developers in this space could build a business from it.
